I didn't think that IBX even supported the Filter property... Perhaps this
is new?

In case you are interested, IBO has the SetRange functionality fully
implemented without any messing around (and the rest of all the TQuery and
TTable functionality minus just a few things).

Try it out and let us know what you think. There is a fully functioning
evaluation version on my web-site.
