AH - I though when you said 'plane' you meant the normal driver. But the
Zend_Db_Adapter can use either.
If memory serves, Zend needs a separate 'host' and 'dbname' rather than
having the server name in the 'dbname' entry.
I gave up on Zend a long time ago so is there any reason for needing to
use it?

using plane php i can connect without any issues
i need to use zf2 (Zend framework 2) for several reasons (sorry, too long to explain)
