I've been using them for years, they predate 5.3 and go back to 5.0. The
php_interbase driver was nicely overhauled for PHP5, and many of the facilities
were never available in PHP4.

Starting to add features which are firebird specific is probably a good reason
for forking a separate php_firebird in the near future. It is just that nobody
has the time to work on it :(
