Since the client IS designed to talk to older version servers there will not be
a problem. The 'sticking point' was Pierre's instance that Firebird neded to be
COMPILED with VC9 when actually only the php_interbase module needs that. It
will work happily with ANY client library ... including embedded if you want to
go that way. php_interbase.dll will work into Firebird or Interbase ... it just
depends which client library it finds in PATH.
