You gave me so much information and I've got to investigate to understand all this on the oncoming days. By now I'll work on a Linux CentOS 5.2 32 bit box, until I get ready to migrate from Firebird 1.5 to Firebird 2 and a CentOS 5.3 64 bit Linux box.
