Eureka!
I did install all libs and devel packages (yum install *libs* *devel*)
and did follow http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=23928.
If this is not enough, try to install at your discretion any other
package with compiler connection like gcc, gtk, etc :-)
By the way the troubles were with Fedora 8, php-5.2.4.
