*IF* PDO was as good as JDO there would not be a problem. PDO is simply a poor
alternative to the generic drivers and still needs ADOdb or something similar
wrapping it to be of any use at all. I don't see any point bothering to get a
simply crippled driver working when one still needs to load the generic driver
for those facilities PDO will never support.

ADOdb should have been the starting point some years ago and PDO is simply a
dead end that we do not need to bother with at all!
