Linux still needs a build to create the .so, and the file is still
called php_interbase.so.

If you check out the php manual
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.ibase.php
it starts to include Firebird, and all functions can be called as
fbird_* rather than ibase_* ready for a split if it becomes necessary
(don't think that is documented yet).

So things are moving, but faster change is not really necessary - yet.

p.s. DON'T copy the gds32.dll from the php installation, use the one
created by the Firebird install ;)
