Can someone tell me whether under linux, the php.exe (equivalent) is loaded
on each request or if it is like an ISAPI dll under Win32 which is cached
for the application?
Under win32 I do not get PHP behaving like ASP pages even when it is set up
as an ISAPI application. There is still a lag in response while it executes
or loads or something. Unlike ASP pages using ODBC connections to firebid
which respond very quickly.
Has anyone in windows experienced the same thing? It's not firebird since
ASP/ODBC is faster, it may not the PHP script per se - it is either PHP in
toto or it's the PHP/fireird connection mechanism.
Any comments?
Is PHP5 faster? perhaps?
