Milan,
I have now installed the isapi module (not in filters but only in the
application - readme file suggested it wasn't required if no using http
authentication which I don't) and it appears to make a huge difference. I
also, for some reason, had to put a full path in the extension_dir setting
in the php.ini file - I wonder if the relative path I had before was causing
a problem.
Why don't you set a full path first in your setup (if not already) and test
that before trying the isapi version. As I say - it's all as expected now in
terms of speed of response - it matches the cgi setup speed on my win2003
server
