OK I've tested both local and remote connection to the db while hitting the
website. There is no difference between that and not being connected while
hitting the website
I even have one page which is a PHP page with absolutely no db connection in
it - in fact it's pure html with the php extension. It too is slow to load
after leaving the website dormant for a few minutes, consecutive hits on the
same page is much faster (acceptable). So my conclusion is that it is the
speed of loading the php.exe and dll script engine and that it has little or
nothing to do with fb connection speeds.
Again - I suspect IIS5 - IIS6 and the same php setup does not show this
trademark.
