I think that will be too large a download to manage, but an
installation guide with all the right links is where I am
heading at present.

I think I prefer the ADOdb package over the PEARdb stuff.
The management of PEAR updates just seems to be annoying as
I prefer to be able to copy a configuration to target
machines. So the way ADOdb works is nice.

The only negatives have been with relation to the metadata
type bits. Firebird (Interbase) and a number of the other
database drivers simple respond 'Not Implemented'. When I've
hit that problem, then bypassing the missing code has been
simple, so no real negatives. Converting the phpdbform
package to run with ADOdb/Firebird has been relatively
painless - I just need to package it in a format that I can
pass the additions back to the various groups.
( I'll post my copies of both modules to the files area when
I am happy with the modifications - my application works
fine, but has a couple of bodges that I need to make generic
:) )

I'd say "Use ADOdb" when you get stuck just post here and we
can try and fix things.
