We have been working on deprecating 1.4 in Gentoo for a couple years
now. We are getting pretty close to ditching 1.4 entirely. Jaybird is
one of the packages still using, or with the ability to use 1.4.
1.3 has been EOL for a while, and we quit supporting it on Gentoo I
believe over a year ago or more.
