Subject RE: [Firebird-Java] Firebird in app server slow connection
Author Rupert Young (Restart)
Hi,

I eventually got the logging going on the app server; I think this line was
missing "file" log4j.rootCategory=DEBUG, stdout, file

Here's the first part of the log messages, as you can see there is a 10
second gap.

[2008-06-30 16:12:28,408 AbstractFBConnectionPoolDataSource,DEBUG] Trying to
create connection, total connections 0, max allowed 2

[2008-06-30 16:12:28,408 AbstractFBConnectionPoolDataSource,DEBUG] Trying to
create connection, total connections 0, max allowed 2

[2008-06-30 16:12:37,584 AbstractJavaGDSImpl,DEBUG] Got socket

[2008-06-30 16:12:37,584 AbstractJavaGDSImpl,DEBUG] Got socket

[2008-06-30 16:12:38,146 AbstractJavaGDSImpl,DEBUG] user.name: SYSTEM

[2008-06-30 16:12:38,146 AbstractJavaGDSImpl,DEBUG] user.name: SYSTEM

And here's the log messages from my code.

[#|2008-06-30T16:12:28.338+0100|FINE|IS5.1.3|com.restart.eai.firebird.FBHand
ler|_ThreadID=17; ThreadName=Worker: 9;|+++ Connecting to //xxx/Portal

[#|2008-06-30T16:12:38.277+0100|FINE|IS5.1.3|com.restart.eai.firebird.FBHand
ler|_ThreadID=17; ThreadName=Worker: 9;|+++ Connection to Firebird

Does this indicate a probable solution?
