I have to agree that this represents a less than 1% usage scenario,
even in my world. I would never have figured it out had I discovered
it in a running app instead of the first testcase for the class
factory. It would have appeared as a random "glitch" that I could
not reliably reproduce.

jUnit is your friend! :o)

I will keep tabs on the FB2 builds and watch for this fix.
