You're in a wrong group, better ask in Firebird-Support or in
Firebird-General.

So far I have not seen any fixed release date, but the core team wished to
release it before the Firebird Conference (mid. November). As to the key
size, version 2 removes the hard limit on the key size, but the limit
remains - 0,25 * page size.
