If it's the server that is going to 100% CPU and you're running the
query in ibexpert (and *not* a java-based client), then I would suggest you
direct this problem at the firebird-support mailing list (this list is
specifically related to the JDBC driver that interfaces with Firebird).

If you try the stored procedure in ISQL, you may want to try showing
statistics and the query plan for a clue on the CPU usage (this is
probably also an option in ibexpert).
