Fantastic!

Its just what I would like in firebird. This opens up all sorts of
possibilities... (an automatic internal replication engine etc) I
can't wait for the release version.
When is it likely to make it into the release branch?

I've downloaded it and had a play. Can't get the FIELDCOUNTEXTERN
procedure to work though. I tried to connect to a firebird table held
on a different PC using the release firebirdsql driver and got errors.
