But Jaybird is not a database server. Firebird is.
So you need Firebird. Firebird is NOT java and needs to be compiled for the
different platforms.
If you have questions about that part, ask at firebird-support@...
Further, embedded is officially supported on windows only.
Linux / Unix versions of embedded are still beta.
