Will do.
I found part of the message:
Interrupted while requesting permit! Waited 0 ms, invocation time:
1090525261246
at org.firebirdsql.jdbc.FBDataSource.getConnection
(FBDataSource.java:82)
in the JBoss class InternalManagedConnectionPool (everything up to and
including the bang) but the second half that gives the wait and
invocation was not in the code (although I don't think I was looking at
a fresh copy).
BTW, what's at line 82 in FBDataSource.java for the RC3 release?

JBoss
(log4j.xml, category org.firebirdsql shold have the DEBUG priority) and
post
the exception you get in that log.
The stacktrace you posted here does not contain any hint that the
problem is
related to JayBird. The message "Interrupted while requesting permit"
does
not come from the driver
