You can also create a database using Java:

FBManager fbManager = new org.firebirdsql.management.FBManager();
fbManager.setServer(dbserver);
fbManager.setPort(dbport);
fbManager.start();
fbManager.createDatabase(dbname, dbuser, dbpassword);
fbManager.stop();

Once the database is created, you can establish a connection in the
usual way and create your tables using standard SQL statements.
