If you have a valid connection, then I'm not sure than I can help. I
honestly don't know if we are using the Type 2 or Type 4 driver; I
just downloaded the version (FirebirdSQL-1.5_20031030.zip) from the
Files section of this group, and it worked!

One difference is that our installations have been on Windows
machines, not Linux.
