Thanks for your response. We are actually using FireBird 1.0.3 already
and still have this problem.

Btw, is there any way to change the timeout period for transactions?

XAER_NOTA means an invalid XID.  We have had this issue before when
connections/transactions were timing out, but not with Firebird.  Not
really
a help, but may give you an idea where to look?
