Wayne,
Actually, the database already existed from a previous
configuration. I was upgrading from JBoss 2.2.1 with Firebird 0.96
(i think) to JBoss 3.0 and Firebird 1.0. It was able to establish a
connection (at least it wouldn't hang when initializing), but as soon
as I went to do anything, whether it be create an instance of a new
bean, or call a finder function, I would get one of the errors
discussed earlier. Well, after removing the FBManager section, and
setting the security sections back to their original settings (i
reset all passwords to just use sysdba/masterkey for debugging
purposes), and then I shut down JBoss, and restarted Firebird, it all
started working!. Unfortunately I was not very systematic in my
method of arriving at the end result, so I am not sure what it was
that was screwing me up!
Thanks everyone for your help!
