I'm in the process of writing my own replication engine which I am
releasing under the GPL. It's at http://fibre.sf.net/. It's written in
Java, using JayBird (to keep this message on topic). It is designed to work
with Firebird 1 (I haven't tried anything else). It transfers the data in
XML format.
