Alpha 5 is scheduled to be released in coming weeks. It should be
the last alpha. Beta-testing phase will be then and new feature
development will move to Firebird 2.0 branch. Firebird 1.5 public
beta-testing will take some time then (possibly 2-3 months).

But I'm not a member of Firebird project admin group and do not
control release schedule. I placed a bet on FB1.5 and my new apps
heavily depend on its new features.

I use current CVS version (or almost current) of Linux classic in
production environment and have a feeling that it is already more
stable than FB1, IB6 or IB6.5 versions.

You can help us to release it faster. Try to test you app with Alpha 4
or current CVS version (preferrable). Are all your databases
restorable with it ? Can you access new database features with your
tools (contact tool vendors if not) ? What is the performance of your app ?

Jaybird should be supporting all FB1.5 new features now. Saying more
Jaybird handles feature extension very gracefully and works correctly
if it encounters new (unknown to him) error codes or statement types.
