Please can I once again prefix this by restating my admiration and gratitude for all those working on FB and associated projects.
I think that part of my problem is that my eyesight isn't that great and I have trouble trying to pick out what has been newly written and what is quoted from previous messages. This is especially the case where there is a sea of >>>, html tags and inconsistent word wrapping. But see my next response...It was a very simple interface to mailing list at the beginning but now
is harder to use , I mentioned that we creaed a mirror on gmane and it
looks a lot more human readable
That is amazing - and what a good advertisement for FB as a web server DB :)Well phpbb 3.0.x works out of the box on firebird so it can be easy to
setup

However..... I get the feeling from some responses that most of the experienced contributors prefer the mailing list format. Although I personally prefer forums, I would much rather stick with a format that the people who have provided us with invaluable support over the years feel comfortable with. Therefore it would only be worth going to the effort of setting this up if there was buy in from the 'greybeards' that they were actually going to use it and continue to help us!
Good point, I will take you up on that today!> Apart from that I am more than happy with the 2/3 year release cycle of Firebird because what I need from a database is *stability*. That said I am eagerly awaiting the new security features and C++ API in 3.0.
you can start testing it and blog about it or you can simply send
feedback :)
Yes I read that conversation. By the way the Gmane link you gave is a perfect example of a difficult (for me) to follow mailing list thread with the same sentence being repeated 5 or 6 times on the page and a time sequence like Momento! By the way, what was the conclusion - I thought maybe the thread moved to January but can't find anything more in the archive?
It is not done yet can can be easily done (surfaced) the core is all
done only it needs to be added in the interface

Yes, I would like to do that. IIRC FR uses wxWidgets and IBPP both of which I have used quite a bit. I have written a very simple GUI version of fbtracemgr that I think it would be nice to include somehow. Next task - join the FR forum!> The other thing that I think would get more users excited is something like MySQL Workbench. I know we have FlameRobin but IMHO is Workbench significantly better (sorry).
Flamerobin is created in our free time , and if you want to you can join
in :)
