another thing to consider is mysql world is full of forks and this
will help us and postgresql in the long term
the picture is getting very confusing : rds, mariadb ,drizzle , falcon
(dead), percona , google (patches), facebook (patches)
oracle vs EU and microsoft fundation ... they are in deep muddy waters
their documentation is propietary ...
our ducumentation is getting better :P

yes also seems that amazon prices are getting lower and is quite easy
today to create a full server with a click or automated
also preinstalled with FLAPS , firebird linux apache/nginx php/ruby/python ...

That is what will kill Microsoft cheap databases like firebird ,
cheap clouds made of ubuntu (amazon ec2 or eucalyptus)

ps: did i forgot to tell you that they have increased the prices for mssql
