Actually, I saw that the next Delphi release will include a driver for
Firebird. So, they now recognize that they need to support Firebird
connectivity.

Given that Interbase is part of CodeGear, I suspect, there will always
be 'politics' about the level of Firebird support.

But Firebird is now a "player" that they can't ignore.
