I'll just reply myself for now as I was just browsing the WEB mailing
list for the first time :) Man, quite a debate about colors and layout
and stuff. Take a look at php.net, do they look like they give a crap
about layout and colors? That site is so accessible, that until now I
didn't even noticed how totally ugly it really is. Its ugly theme is a
signature and a proof of how good the site really is by just serving
its users well.

Sure a nice layout helps but for a community project there are other
much more important problems you should focus on. Please take a minute
and think about it.
