And not having complete and detailed documentation is also not quite a
sign of maturity ...

We all know how great Firebird is, because we probably more or less
all have an InterBase background. IMHO for outsiders it can be
difficult to get on track because of the lack of reference
documentation. (Yes, there is Helen's book but do you have to buy a
book for MySQL? -- I didn't and I have written a few PHP/MySQL apps
[in lack of a Firebird backend though ...])
