Yes, there are such reasons:

1. At the last conference, the doc's project made it known that they
were very close to releasing a full set of doc's. I assume this is
still the case and I don't want to intefere with that. Before you know
it, we are all bogged down in 'my stuff, your stuff, not invented
here' type discussions.

2. The doc's project seems very keen on the docbook technology. That's
too complex for me and I use a much simpler production chain. Well,
simpler to me anyway.

3. I saw no clear advantage in making it a FB docs paper. I can afford
the hosting and the exact URL does not make much difference to Joe
User. If this is your worry, you are welcome to put a link in the
firebirdsql.org website.

Also, having the Janus banner on top is cheap, unobtrusive advertising.
