Frightening!
I'm not much of a public speaker, and I tend to revamp sentences half way
through when under pressure.
Basically I wrapped up how we use Firebird to power some B2B apps for
information harvesting from Real Estate agents, car yards, tourism
operators, into a series of large FB databases. Then covered running
reports against the DB's without any impact on users(we run classic server).
Then covered on-the-fly backups, DBA-less operation, and issues we have with
MySQL and MS SQL Server running other systems, and that Firebird shares none
of the performance issues...
Also did a brief run down of the different architectures to cover different
requirements, which he liked the sound of (I think)
Hopefully I haven't painted too bad a picture of the Firebird project. He's
into OpenSource stuff really heavily, and a big fan of PostgreSQL, which I
said was a brilliant package too(I made sure I didn't bag out any other
project - it's simply a matter of using the right tool for the job).
It might show up in "ComputerWorld" magazine, based in Sydney Aus(AFAIK).
Please don't hate me if I've buggered up...:-)
