Actually, in most countries (including the EU and the US) this would be
illegal. You can build a monopoly by autonomous growth (like MS did),
but creating a monopoly through buying competitors is illegal. For
example, both the US and the EU would block a SAP-Oracle merger or a
SAP-Microsoft merger at this point in time.
