You always needed a little more then just the DLL: the messages file,
ib_util.dll, intl and udf stuff as needed... new for 2.0 are the
icu*.dlls

The ease of deployment is mainly in the fact that you only have to
unpack the goods at the user's computer and you're ready to go. No
installation of services, no network layer necessary, no checking if
there's already an InterBase or Firebird server present, etc. etc.
