Obviously this guy needs some more information, or he didn't look at
the right place, or he might be biased, or simply didn't install and
try out Firebird for his white paper.

Although it is always nice that Firebird is mentioned. But in this
case with that omission under authentication, it can be hurtful if
someone looks at that white paper to help them select which open
source database system to select.
