More or less, but I'm not sure if the Open Source model of Ingres will
succeed. The source is available, but development is AFAIK still done by
CA and having a talk with a CA representative, it's pretty hard for
"outsiders" to actively help with development. He doesn't see a
"community" around Ingres Open Source right now, which is one of the
most important thing around Firebird and its success, IMHO. MaxDB is
somewhat closed development as well, namely done by SAP employees.
