Hi Mark,
We've been re-developing our Delphi 6 apps for a couple of years now,
having moved from BDE / Pardox / dbase and are just about to release.
While we are looking forward to V2 and V3, we are not really worried
about when they arrive... SMP and better language support would be nice,
but for us it's not a huge issue.
I wouldn't be committing to V2 now - it's not released and who knows
when it will be released. 1.5 is great, certainly much much better than
IB6. When V2 comes out, deal with it then. V3 - deal with it after
you've dealt with V2, if you decide to deal with V2 at all!
We will end up deploying thousands of seats in the next 12 months, and I
have no doubt that 1.5 will be able to do the job - from the single user
to our larger networked customers.
Regards,
Peter Lee
