I wait for Firebird2 and see whether it fixes UTF-8/Unicode problems.
We went back to MySql_4.1.7 for Linux release because of the
internationalization problems. It has a stable innodb table format and
good jdbc driver.
I still keep FB running as a hobby installation but its not in the
production use atm. But will try it again when FB2 binary test version
is released. It quite easy us to move to a new db because we dont put
any business logic to the db layer (views or procedures).
