i didn't mean to start a against-php thread here, php serves it purpose. and a
big advantage is that so many host this webserver extension.

the net-provider is native, no extra libs needed, it just implements the ado.net
interface.
i just wanted to point out that asp.net applications can be developed
efficiently via rad gui's like delphi/vs.net.

and that also counts for non-webdriven apps. multiplatform and a powerfull
framework.
