We did not lost the battle, we won it. Three-four years ago we were
not known at all. Now we are number 2, putting our main competitor
PostgreSQL far behind. We need a comparison between Firebird and
MySQL, features, licensing, costs, reliability, recovery, connectors,
etc. and we won it. We need to win against Oracle, MS SQL and DB2 in
the enterprise, we need to win against MySQL in ISPs, we need to win
against Cloudscape, JDataStore, DaffodilDB in the embedded DB market.
And we can do it. :)
