This use of Star Wars mis-quotes goes back to early days of the X
windowing system. Good documentation only became available when Tim
O'Reilly sponsored Adrian Nye to write some (as late as X11R4, I
believe).
Before that, if you wanted to know about the X wire protocol, or the
workings of the Xlib API, the answer on newsnet was always "Use the
source, Luke".
Sorry to be irrelevant, but I rather like history :^)
