Have some examples to get up and running under different platforms. Like
some applications such as a simple webpage with data from the db
(something like LAMP). I always hate to find out myself how to get
things working. Sometimes it cost too much time.

Have a section with tools that work with Firebird.

Also, on the top banner maybe you can mention something like 'get to
know the open source database for the enterprise', so it's instantly
recognizable as a(n open source) database site. There are lot's of
people that don't know that Firebird is a database.
The Postgresql site says: 'The world's most advanced open source database'.
Or maybe: the open source database: Small footprint, giant steps ;)
