criteria laid out by the Open Source Initiative (see

But the IDPL is _not_ an OSI-approved license. Getting the OSI to
approve a license involves a thorough legal analysis which must be
done by a lawyer and therefore costs (a lot of?) money - see
http://www.opensource.org/docs/certification_mark.php
Then again, OSI doesn't own the term "open source". Everybody is
entitled to their own definition. So it all depends on the kind of
reassurance the original asker seeks.
