That is only 28% of the survey respondents. Sure it doesn't mean that
it accurately reflects the market.

But, in the case of Evans survey, the surveys were tracked by the
e-mail used to fill in the survey. Because if you tried to fill out
the survey a second time with the same e-mail, you would be given a
message thanking you to have already taken the survey. And in the case
of this particular survey, I don't remember somebody posting a message
in the newsgroups to say that Firebird was in it(and not all of the
survey questions did list the names of the RDBMSs). I knew about the
survey, because I was already on Evans mailing lists. And, most of
Evans surveys are commissioned by someone.

Otherwise, I do agree with your statement.

Not to me. You'll probably find that most of those that develop with
Firebird will probably be small shops or self-employed, and not
necessarily seeking employees at the moment. And, if I would be
advertising a job posting, I would only mention "SQL language
experience an asset".
