The real question, imo, is how long will it take for MySQL users to take
advantage of Views, Procs and triggers.

AIUI, most of the dev work over the last few years with firebird has gotten
it to a point where it is fully OO and stable, now this work is almost
complete (ala: V2) there is no reason why the next version of FB shouldn't
come packed with goodies. Hopefully including a very rich set of internal
functions, instead of relying on UDFs.

Another thing to consider here, many MySQL users use it because its fast,
how will performance be affected with the addition of SPs, Views and
triggers?

Many winging customers, I See. :-o
