"Leading the pack are offerings such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, and
Sleepycat Berkeley DB. While open source databases are similar to Linux in
that they are offered through free downloads in exchange for code sharing,
open source database companies also offer dual-license arrangements. With a
commercial database license, companies pay nominal license fees for exclusive
use of the code, as they would with an Oracle or SQL Server license."
AFAIK only MySQL does the dual licencing thing, and that bit reads like they
all do. Also it fails to mention that to use MySQL for a non-open source
product it requires a licence to be purchased, it is not optional.
