I do know that it will support PHP development, and we use that
exclusively for web development. The ADOdb database abstraction layer
allows you to connect to both MySQL and Firebird (at the same time), and
copy things between the two. TikiPro, a branch of the TikiWiki project
uses ADOdb to provide a range of database engines, and the script
conversion was part of that project. I say was, because the installer
now uses ADOdb's DataDictionary to provide a generic model of the
database, which is built for each engine directly, rather than having to
run specific scripts. If you want to discuss this further, I would
suggest we switch to the firebird-php list, where all of the problems
related to PHP use is discussed.
