Yes - the equivalent of cents are called "bani". In fact I still have some
of them in my daughter's coin collection: they disspeared around '91-'92.
We've got a nasty inflation, 1 USD is 33k lei (and seems to freeze :), 1 EURO
is about 41-42k lei (and still climbing...not very happy about it because my
mortgage is in euro's) and small change is 500, 1000, and 5000 lei.
If you are interested maybe I can send you coins (old ones, from the comunist
times, retired - 1, 2 ,5, 10, 50, 100 - and in use).

BTW..where are you ?
