You aren't looking in the right places!! There is plenty of discussion
going on in firebird-devel and firebird-architect.

Also go to the main Firebird website and click through to
Development>Firebird Database Engine section. There is a draft roadmap
there. (Short link from the Newsflash, top left corner of the Home page).

Possibly; but SQL language isn't part of the Vulcan design brief. SQL
language changes in Firebird 2 would eventually find their way into Vulcan
and thence to Firebird 3.
